I bought this vacuum after reading Consumer Reports and finding it stacked up against the far spendier models. It didn't disappoint. In fact, truth be told, my house cleaner demonstrated it's effectiveness enthusiastically as she sucked cat hair from the cushions on my sofa. I haven't had it long enough to experience any problems - but for now that isn't in the foreseeable future. It's not too loud, not too heavy and seems to have the power that is frankly astonishing to find with a sub $100 piece of equipment. I'm pleased!
