Lowest Price Hoover U5140-900 Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum

If you are looking for a good, solid vacuum cleaner without bells and whistles, this is it.

My last vacuum cleaner was a Hoover Wind Tunnel, and it was way too strong for Turkish carpets. It literally sucked them inside. and threatened to destroy the fringes. I looked for a vacuum cleaner that was not a piece of junk, that was sturdy, but less powerful, to clean rugs that are lightly used and usually pristine. After reading hundreds of reviews, this sounded like the right choice.

*It is lighter than the Wind Tunnel and has plenty of suction. The setting that works best here is 2, but there are 2 higher settings if you want stronger suction.

*It is easier to maneuver than my Wind Tunnel, and the hose, which some reviews discussed as being "short", is exactly the same size.

*However, the reviews which discussed the short cord are correct. This cord is several feet too short, and requires that one constantly change outlets. If this is a burden for you, do not get this vacuum.

*The design is well constructed, with all the tools in easy reach.

**BIG CAVEAT: I could not find the "dirt finder" lights or switches. After scrutinizing the manual (which does not say which vacuum model it represents), I found a notation that "some models only" have these features. On the front of the manual there are sketches of 2 different Hoovers, one with a sort of triangular design, the other with a square design. Mine matches the triangular one as well as the model number stated here U5140900. So I guess these features come with the square design, but there are no model number differences to indicate what that might be. The picture of the vacuum on this webpage is the "square" design. With so little dirt here, it does not matter if this has the dirt finder or not, but to people who need to be sure, this might be important.

**Bags: it uses the Hoover Y bags, which is what my Wind Tunnel used too.

This machine works beautifully and hopefully it will last. If you do not want to spend a lot of money, are looking for a versatile vacuum that is easy to use, this might be your answer.
