Hoover U5140-900 Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum Decide Now

I bought this to replace a very old (over 20 years old) Hoover that finally died. I needed to watch my budget, and this was perfect. This vacuum is so strong that it sucked up some of the fringes of an area rug, but I can prevent that happening again. As long as I inspect my floors to make sure there are no pennies, rug fringes, small pets, etc., I don't worry about it sucking up anything that it shouldn't. The hose is a bit short, but the extreme cleaning suction with the attachments makes up for that flaw. The old Hoover was mostly metal, so these new plastic sweepers are a bit disappointing to me in their construction, but that's the trend. Overall, this vacuum really does a good job cleaning floors, under my baseboard radiators and under furniture. Oh, and it's powered, so it drives itself, which is a huge help (just watch that it doesn't run away from you!).
